PSG aiming to appoint Christophe Galtier as new head coach.

 



Paris Saint- Germain are aiming to appoint Christophe Galtier as head coach within the next week.


The 55-years old Frenchman will replace Mauricio Pochettino. Who leaves mutually agreed departure with Paris Saint Germain early this month.


A talks were held with former Real Madrid manager Zinezine Zidane, but his preference is to take over from Didier Descamps as France manager after this winter's World Cup.

Galtier join from Nice, who he led to month in Ligue 1 last year.

However he is known for coaching Lille to the 2019-20 title..the only occasion in the last five years that PSG have failed to win the league.


He also spent eight years at Saint- Etienne between 2009 and 2017.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khlelaifi has held direct discussion over the next Manager during the last week and PSG hope to agree a compensation package to be agreed with Nice in the coming days.

The club are also in negotiations with Lille over the transfer of Portugal midfielder Renato Sanchez.


The 24-year-old midfielder was a key part of Lille side Galtier led to the title two years ago.

PSG are also interested in signing 27-years -old defender Milan Skriniar from inter Milan.


The Slovakian captain would be welcome to join a group of  center-back with the like of Sergo Ramos and others.
